The RG405 spec is almost identical to the Retroid Pocket 3 (RP3). However, the RG405 takes refinement and feel further. As of April 2023, this is Anbernic's most refined and fastest console.
If you have or wanted an RG351M then this would be a step up in the right direction.
While it runs Android only, the pre-installed Google Play store provides you access to a large library of apps and titles. In addition, the 128GB card delivers a heap of retro classics on a brand-named card - no upgrading or installing anything. Simply turn on and play.

This Anbernic retro gaming handheld is Android 12-based with a number of advancements including a Tiger T618 processor, Mali G52 GPU, and 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128Ghz EMC. We also have hall magnetic joysticks which are far more accurate and an inbuilt 6-axis gyroscope meaning you can control certain games by tilting the console.
The alloy case is beautifully sculptured with nicely shaved edges, recessed buttons and LED along with many well-thought-out design cues.
Standard stereo speakers, 2.4 & 5G WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, micro SD slot for adding games and a 5000mAh battery for up-to 8hrs play.
The button, DPad and joypad quality don't disappoint either.
What games can the RG505 emulate?
When it comes to higher-end emulation, you can get away with playing some PS2 titles reasonably smooth, but do keep in mind that 2D-based PS2 emulation will be more suited as less intensive. Each game will vary depending on how demanding it is.
Gamecube wise running PAL ROMs at 50hz will allow you to play more titles.
Android wise you can download Apps and games from Google Play and use either the controls or onscreen touch if desired.
Using the Steam Link app and 5.4ghz wifi connection you can stream a large number of games from your desktop PC which opens up gaming for wherever you are at home.
