The SNES-inspired RG353P handheld is... bringing retro back, yeah!

This listing is for the Games console and 16GB OS card.

If you are wanting the optional card for the 2nd slot, look at our bundle option.

Not only does the RG353P look super comfy to hold with all the edges gone, but it comes with the 640 * 480 3.5" touch screen. Sporting the new RK3566 and finally, 2GB RAM means retro gaming should run a fair bit smoother than the 351 range.

If we're talking retro, then the SNES-inspired design brings it in spades. Add Android 11 along with a touchscreen and this should be a retro and modern game handheld of joy. The contoured case should make it super comfy for your hands too.

The RG353P is 1.6cm narrower than the RG503 and 2cm narrower than the RG552. The screen is the same size as the 351V and 351MP with added touchscreen function for the Android interface, games and apps.

and YES, we finally have stacked shoulder buttons.

The Anbernic RG353P comes with HDMI so you can connect to a bigger screen. You can also connect an external gamepad via the USB C port or using Bluetooth 4.2.

What games can the RG353P emulate?

Given the Nintendo nostalgia this handheld oozes, it's only fitting that it plays N64, DS and Super Nintendo very well. Given the 2GB RAM and the faster processor you'll find the 353V will not only power through older titles but smoothly run many PlayStation 1 titles, more PlayStation Portable and while Dreamcast is better it's still hit and miss on more demanding games. The benefit over the 351X range here is less time tweaking and more time playing. The newer processor also generates less heat with longer game time between charges.

For those who like Android, you have the option of booting into the Android 11 interface and considering 2x resolution on games and consoles like DS, N64, SNES and so on.

On the Batocera Linux side, from the factory, the RG353 runs the same front end as the RG503 and RG553 being Emulationstation and RetroArch.

The upgraded hardware, 4:3 Aspect Ratio and touchscreen as mentioned make it perfect for Nintendo DS emulation.

Dreamcast and Saturn however are hit n miss on the stock firmware.

While GameCube isn't its speciality, some of the easier titles will work well but PS2 is a no-go.

The large body also means a more comfortable hold and nicely placed fingers on the stacked shoulder buttons.

Happy retro gaming.

Loving it

Great service from Electro Arcade, I ordered quite late and still received within a few days just before Xmas Day :D.

As for the product - for me it plays everything I want it to very smoothly. Screen is bright. Controls feel nice and are responsive. Sound is good. Plenty of battery life while also performing well. Haven't been able to fault it.

High quality handware

Amazing build quality and super comfortable design to hold. Screen gets super bright too.

The extra $10 factory SD with games is average. Missing alot but a good place to start and build on yourself.

Also big ups to electro arcade for dealing with the import side and checking the hardware before sending it on, gives serious peace of mind you are getting what you paid for.

Great pocketable portable

This is what I wanted as a kid.

A small yet decently powerful (in comparison to other fanless handhelds that aren't smartphones in disguise) handheld that does not compromise on features. The stacked shoulder buttons use a nice membrane that's more akin to the SNES's shoulder buttons than the clicky Xbox shoulder buttons, which is something a lot of other retro controller replicas tend to be doing.

D-pad is the standard that Anbernic is well-known for. Very deliberate and accurate. Nice work Anbernic, keep making your D-pads this good. The face buttons are equally high quality, nice and responsive.

The screen is beautiful, I haven't noticed a single defect with it.

Speakers can get decently loud, however there is a fatal flaw. Whenever something is happening, such as running an emulator, a hissing sound is emitted. Thankfully it's quiet enough that you won't notice it while using it, but during silent moments or if you put your ear near the speakers, it becomes apparent. It's especially frustrating that this seems to be the only flaw with this device! This is the reason it's only getting 4/5.

Battery hasn't run out on me yet with my very sporadic use of it through the week. If it's anything as efficient as Anbernic's other offerings then I'd be comfortable with taking this over the weekend as the only device to pass the time.

Overall, pretty nice product. I might just use headphones, though.
