The ‘S’ Stands
for Supercharged.
The original Smart Pro was a solid entry-level device. The Pro S is a different machine entirely — a mid-range emulation powerhouse at a sub-$200 price point.
4.96″ IPS.
720×1280.
A fully laminated IPS panel at 16:9 — the aspect ratio every PSP, N64, and Dreamcast game was designed for. No black bars, no distortion.
Full lamination eliminates the air gap between glass and panel, reducing glare and making colours appear more vivid at any viewing angle.
At 720×1280, pixel-perfect scaling works cleanly for GBA, SNES, and PS1 — every sprite at an integer multiple without blurring.

Common
Questions.
Can it really play PSP smoothly?
Yes. The jump to the Allwinner A523 and Mali-G57 GPU eliminates the bottleneck of the previous model. Demanding PSP titles now run at full speed at 1×–2× resolution without dropped frames. It's the single biggest improvement in the Pro S.
Are the joysticks prone to drift?
No. TMR joysticks use magnetic sensing with no physical contact points to wear down. There's nothing to drift. Precision stays consistent for the life of the device — a meaningful upgrade over the potentiometer sticks found on budget handhelds.
How does the software compare to other devices?
The Smart Pro S runs an optimised Linux OS with RetroArch integrated. If you're used to EmuELEC or Batocera on other handhelds, you'll feel at home immediately. Community firmware CrossMix OS is also available for deeper customisation — save states, shaders, scraping, and hotkey configuration are all supported.
Does the Trimui Smart Pro S come with games?
The Standard console is sold without a Micro SD. Bring your own games or add the upgraded CrossMix card for an instant game play setup.
Is it worth upgrading from the original Smart Pro?
If you are looking for better controls, PS1, Dreamcast & N64, then yes. With active cooling, a full CPU and GPU overhaul, clickable L3/R3 TMR joysticks, WiFi 6, and USB 3.0 transfers — at a similar price point. If you own the original, the Pro, and are happy with controls and sticking to arcade games only, then an upgrade might not be for you.
“The PSP library in your pocket. N64 with proper analogue sticks. Active cooling that actually keeps up. The Smart Pro S redefines what a sub-$200 handheld can do.”
