The R270 multi-platform 7 in 1 racing wheel and pedals setup brings affordable and fun racing to a broad range of PC and gaming consoles.
Looking for an affordable yet fun-to-use racing sim wheel and pedals bundle? Is the R270 the best racing wheel for your PC? Well, it’s a strong contender that brings to the table diverse compatibility and quality at a great price. You can have some fun using it on your PC, then give it a run on your Nintendo Switch and why not plug it into your Super Console X or Raspberry Pi for some retro gaming fun? Then on the weekend take it to friends and have some fun playing Xbox or Playstation titles.
The R270 is a true all-rounder budget-friendly sim racing wheel and pedal bundle that brings a decent racing experience to the casual gamer.
With dual vibration motors, pairing the wheel with compatible consoles and games delivers a more engaging experience with impact and other vibration levels during driving.
Gone are the frustrations of having to turn the wheel too much or too little. With an inbuilt sensitivity adjustment, you can tweak how much movement is delivered per game when moving the wheel side to side. This is independent of the gaming console being used making it a true multi-platform friendly racing wheel.
The wheel comes with an inbuilt gear shifter for when needed along with mounting clamps for numerous surfaces while the pedals can be fixed to whatever flooring you have.
Given most retro games don’t support force feedback, the wheel is spring based – however like many Electro Arcade products, we’ve had the manufacturer tweak the spring strengths to deliver an experience closer to the more expensive gear-based steering wheels.
That said while we have worked hard to deliver a good wheel at a very affordable price break if you are wanting a more premium or sim experience you may want to consider an entry-level Logitech g27 or g29 wheel.
7 in 1 multi-platform compatibility
The r270 is compatible with PC, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 3/4, Xbox One/360, Raspberry Pi and Android devices including Android TV units such as Super Console X.
The steering wheel has an inbuilt Dpad and buttons meaning you won’t need to pick up your gamepad controller for game navigation or selections.
Enjoy compatible titles such as Asphalt heat 7, Burnout Paradise, Dirt Rally, F1 2021, Forza Horizon, Grand Theft Auto V (5), Grip Combat Racing, Inertial Drift, Mario Kart 8, Need for Speed, Ridge Racer 7, Sonic All Stars Racing, WRC 9 and many more.
While this is normal, please note compatibility will vary across consoles and games. There may be consoles or games where in order to work the R270 needs to use older tech settings and in this instance the pedals will not work due to restrictions in the method of communication used by the console/ game. As an example Asphalt 9 on PC doesnt seem to support vibration.
Integrated mounting clamps
The r270 mounting clamps include detachable spacers allowing for a broader range of mounting surfaces and widths ranging from 1/2 to 6 centimetres.
Broad compatibility
Supporting X input and D input modes broadens the potential consoles and systems the r270 racing wheel can be set up and used with.
Inbuilt gear shifter
The integrated gear shifter means no need to find an additional mounting point and allows you to play old school style be it a modern racer like Forza, Mario Kart 8 or retro gaming like Daytona USA.
Adjustable foot pedals
Pedal sensitivity and faces can be adjusted while mounting is provided for various surfaces.
270-degree realism
Being able to turn the wheel 2.5 times delivers a realistic driving/ racing feel. With a 270-degree turn lock to lock you get 135 degrees left and right from the centre.
While there is no wheel compatibility with Pandora Boxes, the R270 is compatible with Raspberry PI and Android TV boxes such as the Super Console X and will mount onto our MiniBeast arcade machines. Swap out the gameboard on the MiniBeast and you have a super affordable race-capable arcade machine. Did I hear someone say, Daaaytooonaaaah!
