Anbernic’s first Windows-based handheld!
The WIN600 is slightly wider than the RG552 and houses a 5.94″ 10-point IPS touchscreen. It comes in 2 colours, white or black and 2 models, the 3020e and 3050e. We only stock the faster 3050e model.
The WIN600 comes with stereo speakers, video out, a touchscreen and Bluetooth.
It’s capable of playing most consoles up to PS1, Dreamcast and PSP. It will play a limited range of PS2 titles along with older PC titles and some Wii, Switch, and Gamecube.
The WIN600 comes pre-loaded with Windows, making it ready to play right out of the box. You can easily load Steam titles directly within Windows, giving you access to sales and allowing you to build your library of indie and emulation games. Plus, with a Steam account, you can enjoy most of these titles seamlessly on the Anbernic Win600. For those interested in custom firmware without sacrificing the convenience of Windows, you have the option to install Batocera onto a USB stick. Simply set the USB priority boot option in your BIOS settings, and you’re all set to explore a whole new world of gaming possibilities.
Apart from running Steam, you can access a wide range of titles using Xbox cloud from Banjo-Kazooie to Forza Horizon 5 and more.. and you can enjoy PC games like Fallout: New Vegas, BioShock Remastered, Dirt 3, Halflife 2, Trackmania, Horizon Chase Turbo, Outrun Coast2Coast 2006 and much more..
While the standard setup will suffice, for those who like to tinker, you can replace Windows with holoiso which is the operating system the Steam Deck uses.
You can also install Batocera on an external micro USB stick giving you the option of Windows, Steam or Batocera. Out of all options, Batocera is the most optimised and will run demanding games better than Windows or Steam.
For those like Australia who don’t have access to the steam deck, the Anbernic WIN600 is currently the cheapest Windows-based X86 handheld gaming console.
While it’s not perfect, it does allow for more options and will play a large collection of consoles and titles. We have opted for the faster 3050e model which has an upgradable 256GB internal M2 SSD hard drive.
With a 5.94″ IPS screen gameplay gets pretty exciting. The fact you can then plug into your TV, connect a Bluetooth gamepad and play on the big screen is also very appealing.
The console comes with stacked shoulder buttons with the Dpad located top left.
While there is no MicroSD slot, you can use a micro USB stick or micro USB card reader.
